How the 50% works
Independence Market exists because disability equipment is priced for insurers, not for people. Members receiving disability benefits pay half of the regular retail price on everything we stock.
1. Create a free account
It takes a minute with an email address or a Google account. There is no membership fee, ever.
2. Confirm your benefit status
Tell us which benefit you receive — SSI, SSDI, VA disability, Medicaid waiver or a state programme. We may ask for an award letter for large equipment orders.
3. See half price everywhere
Every price on the site becomes the member price, with the retail price crossed out so you can see the saving.
4. Order and track your spending
Each order is added to your money tracker automatically, along with the amount your membership saved you that month.
Who qualifies

Funding, grants and insurance
The member price can be combined with grant funding, workers' compensation settlements and charitable awards. If your insurer covers part of an item, we can issue an itemised invoice showing the retail price and the discount applied. Ask us before you order and we will prepare the paperwork.
